The lame-street-media is suggesting the Republicans are getting out of hand.
Media like the New York Times suggests "the McCain campaign has crossed the line between tough negative campaigning and inciting vigilantism, and each day the mob howls louder."
Excuse me?
There is no doubt supporters of McCain are frustrated. And they are getting angry primarily because they feel like they are being hoodwinked.
They can see with their own eyes how much the Media is in the tank for Obama. They can see for themselves they are giving him a pass on issues that, if reversed, they would be all over like white on rice. If Palin had some of Obama's history, she would be toast.
They read about how ACORN, an organization that Obama supports, is stealing the election in a handful of states.
They know full well the old saying "You lay down with dogs, you get up fleas" somehow doesn't apply to their guy.
They realize that Obama, who associations would automatically make him ineligible for any significant security clearance and thus he would be ineligible for almost any serious Federal job is somehow winning the biggest Federal job of them all.
They read about how they are called "racist" for any disagreements with their candidate. They listen to Rep. John Davis of Georgia suggest McCain and Palin are creating a "hateful atmosphere."
And they are told their anger is akin to a "lynch mob" and they have no right to such emotional outbursts. They are told, BY THEIR OWN CANDIDATE, to "tone it down."
Well, the Democrats can take their criticims and their accusations of "racism" and their Socialistic candidate and stick them where the sun don't shine.
How about that sentiment?
And for some reason, it's the liberal press who are actually using the words "violence" and "assassination."
Wha? Who brought that up?
It's not like we're the only ones passionate about politics but to suggest Republicans are, well, like Canadians, is irresponsible.
I don't condone violence and neither does any Republican I know. But now you've got us mad. And where as I would never wish anyone illwill or violence, I will say this:
"We're mad as hell and we're not going to take it anymore!"
There, I feel better.
You know, if this was a fair fight, if we had an equal chance in this very important election, we might not feel so frustrated. And if we lose, we'll get over it (much better than our counterparts, who are usually filled with venom and hatred in their blogs and commentaries).
We'll be fine. And we know lies and misrepresentation is just par for the course for Democrats. It's just something we're used to.
But still, its enough to piss off any one who cares.

Amen! My gosh we are watching the theft of the most powerful position in the world. It is being stolen right from under our noses. There is absolutely no way that the American People would vote for this schmuck if they knew even half of what is out there.
If Obama governs the way he's lived, and the way he's promised he'll govern - we'll see civil war.
I pray he governs as a left leaning centrist. I don't see anything suggesting he will.
We won't see civil war but Obama does have the perfect recipe for economic depression!
It's okay kids. At least, thanks to the MSM, we know everything Todd Palin's ancient DUI, and former political affiliations, etc. Even though he's not even a candidate for office, it's still not bad for six week's work...
A few tidbits from the left:
1) Theft? We have millions of electronic voting machines without a paper trail. We've had 8 yrs to correct it; hasn't been done.
2) Palin's pastor has a history of hunting witches and spewing anti-semitic rhetoric (with Palin present)
3) Palin is a religous fruitcake - last thing we need - not to mention not very knowledgeable - couldn't name a single supreme court case; newspaper she's read.
4) I don't want Joe 6 pack over the nuclear codes
5) The country isn't too happy about W lying us into a war with Iraq who had nothing to do with 9-11
6) You call democrats tax and spenders yet the deficit is out of control, not to mention the economy (I know, its all the Dems fault)
7) <25% approve of W
8) The republican minority has used the filibuster more in the last 2 years then all years before
9) Giving corporate america hundreds of billions is about as close to socialism as one can imagine
10) Admit it - the republicans have failed - so even if you don't care for Obama you guys had your chance at the helm - now get ready for a landslide defeat
Best of luck. And don't tell me W was a man of integrity - at best he's nothing more then a dry drunk with an IQ of 75. McCain graduated last in a class of 900 at the Naval Academy - the only reason he graduated was because of his last name.
I have already voted for McCain by absentee and I sincerely regret it. He is showing us that he has no problems attacking GOPers, but he simply won't attack the Dems. That is not fighting with us, as McCain asked us to do in his Convention speech; that is fighting against us. If he knew he didn't want to fight, he should have chosen Lieberman and not Palin as his VP. If McCain loses, it is because he refused to fight as he asked us to and because he got a lipsticked pit-bull for a running mate and put a muzzle on her. That is not the fight I wanted to see in my candidate.
If the Left thinks that Dubya is a dry drunk with a low IQ, then Obama is a lying Communist coke-head who can't speak a complete sentence without a teleprompter. Everybody knows that Dubya did better in school than Dem bright lights Kerry and Gore; it's likely he did better than Obama, too, cuz Obama won't reveal his transcripts not for love nor for money.
Let's get real for a moment, shall we?
McCain isn't anyone's idea of a great candidate. He's not the sharpest knife in the drawer and as far as the conservative wing of the Republican party is concerned, he's the rightmost viable DemocRat running.
The only reason he wasn't blown out at the starting gate was that the DemocRats, for the second time running have picked their most liberal option, and to hell with the center.
History shows that after a long war the public wants a change. Ask Winston Churchill. Combine that with the crumbing economy the party in power, right or wrong gets the blame.
So the left wing of the DemocRat party have rolled the dice and hit big. The country's the one who's lost big, as most likely we can look forward to 4 more years of deep recession.
You want to do something constructive with the anger? Get control of your party. Make sure the Republicans find and nominate a real conservative or libertarian oriented candidate. Ronald Magnus would be the model for the person you're looking for, and if Palin isn't that person, ( I doubt that she is, frankly) lets hope she doesnt stand in his/her way next time.
No one has or should have a problem with Republicans/conservatives being upset, angry or emotional about how the presidential campaign is progressing. That is certainly your right.
And, if you want to be "pissed off" about the fact that, because Adam Smith was wrong--the market did not regulate itself--and the world is now in the grasp of an economic crisis worse than any since the Great Depression, a majority of American voters are going to reject John McCain, the Republican Party and conservative economic theories in the November election. Be "pissed off" all you want. That, too, is your right as an American.
But, when political leaders/candidates deliberately whip up their crowds to the point where those in attendance feel that they can stand up and shout "Traitor", "Terrorist", "Kill Him", etc., we should all have the sense to realize that that is going too far. In a country that has a history of lynchings, assassinations, the KKK and Aryan Nations violence, and a serious, right-wing coup attempt that was foiled (just Google Gen.Smedley Butler for details), such behavior comes very close to "shouting "Fire" in a crowded theatre".
No doubt it would be easy to blow off my concerns and those raised by the NYT as the unjustified ravings of "the left", but these concerns are underscored by Richard's comment above that "we'll see a civil war". It is obvious from his comment that Richard is no "lefty", yet he sees the potential for a "civil war". Really?
If Obama is President, the Democrats are running the government and "the left" is in charge, who would start this "civil war" (by definition a rebellion against the government)? And, how could there be a "civil war" without violence?
Effectively, Richard is pointing out that, while there are some on the Right who may be "pissed off" but will accept the outcome of the election, there are some on the Right who may resort to violence and "civil war" if they do not find the way that Obama governs at least tolerable. Certainly, that is more than enough reason for people to be concerned that whipping up the kind of sentiments that caused those folks to yell "Kill Him!', "Traitor", etc. could ultimately result in acts of violence, vigilantism or even the outright "civil war" that Richard postulates.
Anyone who believes in law, order and civil discourse in the political arena should decry such behavior. And, John McCain, while guilty of getting that ball rolling, was right to attempt to do so. Be "pissed off" all you want (I have been "pissed off" a lot since 1980!), but also be sensible enough to know that there is a line that should not be crossed in our public political discourse if we are to preserve civility and our unity as Americans.
To pierrelegrand: the most powerful position in the world cannot be "stolen right from under our noses". It doesn't belong to you or to any political party or group, it belongs to all of the American people--including the people on the left side of the political spectrum and those in the center who are likely to vote for Obama. It is the arrogance of those on the Right who believe that America, the Presidency, etc. belongs only to them and to those who agree with them that frightens a lot of people in this country. To be sure there are those on the extreme Left who share this arrogance and they are just as wrong-headed. America and its institutions belongs to all of us, even if that means that at times the government and the majority of the citizens do not agree with us as individuals and we must accept the "will of the people".
My god, neil, you took a thousand words to say "ANGRY WHITE MALES!!!!"
Haven't you heard a thousand cries of Bush being a "traitor" over the past eight years? There's a certain website called Zombietime you need to read.
You want to know what we're really pissed off? Because more than ever this election is being chosen by people who have absolutely no knowledge of politics. It's a damn popularity contest and the magical empty suit is winning.
Oh, and "civil war?" It's called hyperbole, you pretentious ass.
"To pierrelegrand: the most powerful position in the world cannot be "stolen right from under our noses". It doesn't belong to you or to any political party or group, it belongs to all of the American people--including the people on the left side of the political spectrum and those in the center who are likely to vote for Obama."
What total garbage. When Bush won the last election, Neil and the usual mob were screaming that the election was stolen from them, and threatened ad nauseam to secede from the Union, taking with them "the brains of America".
They won't be held responsible for what they said five minutes ago, yet they swear they can be responsible for much weightier things. And they scream bloody murder when no one believes them.
The only way Obama will be able to stay in power is a concerted attack on the First and Second Amendments. When that happens, Katy bar the door.
Let’s see, Barack Hussein Obama so far, as accumulated Louis Farrakhan, Daniel Ortega, Jeremiah Wright, William Ayers, and Hamas, among his admirers, supporters, and associates. He's a human bug light for despots, terrorists, and hate spewers. No wonder you democrats love him.
The bottom line for Obama shills is that you can heave all of the invective, crazy shit you want at John McCain and Sarah Palin; but criticize their candidate by pointing out his glaring character flaws, and your a 'racist' and a 'hater'.
That's about it, isn't it jd?
hoodwinked?
I talked to an Army sergeant JOE and his wife. He has been to IRaq twice. His wife works on base
Joe voted for Bush, he is NOT voting for mccain despite liking his character
JOe s NOT hoodwinked, he knows the issues
Joe says the media is biased but he can gleen his own facts from internet.
Vietnam issues? Joe is not worrried about vietnam era issues, he says mccain shakes hands with North Vietnamese and he understands that.
Acorn - JOe knows that false registrations are eventually found
out
racist - Joe is from Alabama.
he knows their are some racists mccain supporters, even in his own family
Joe appreciates that Mccain tried to correct false ideas
-----
assainations ? dems are very familiar with people killing
democrats
this is a LIE - Obama, who associations would automatically make him ineligible for any significant security clearance !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
i know that from my workplace
facts
voting- GOP sec state Coffman in Colorado had to change voting machines since they still dont work
GOP senators talked how THEY dont want Mcccain as president - google it
McCain graduated 855 in classs of 860
Someone should ask McCain how all those years of pandering to the left and buddying up to the media are working out for him.
This election would be interesting if a Republican was running instead of two Democrats.
Newsflash, Nick:
I served as a U.S. Soldier for 30 years. I'm an Iraq war vet, twice over. I do not want the likes of Barack Hussein Obama within 5000 klicks of the White House.
Newsflash for all the Obama apologists who excuse his past and support his policies:
He’s a socialist economically and on foreign policy. He honed his political skills in a leftwing/anarchist Chicago environment from the home of a like-minded comrade.
He wants to raise taxes into the stratosphere and plans on adding another TRILLION dollars of spending. He wants unconditional ass-kissing for Iran and thinks Islamofascist terrorists are just ‘misunderstood’.
If you support his policies, you’d better understand his past.
The trouble is, you like-minded comrades not only understand, but advocate.
Tell Joe that 'denial ain't a river in Egypt'.
rocker,
I sent this e-mail to Frank Rich:
Hey Frank,
You column is chock full of apologist bullshit and accusations that Obama’s statements are taken “out of context”.
Well Frank, it’s hard to take things like this ‘out of context’:
Obama: “ACORN will help shape my agenda”:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8vJcVgJhNaU
He himself shows racial tendencies:
“That’s just how white folks will do you. It wasn’t merely the cruelty involved; I was learning that black people could be mean and then some. It was a particular brand of arrogance, an obtuseness in otherwise sane people that brought forth our bitter laughter. It was as if whites didn’t know that they were being cruel in the first place. Or at least thought you deserving of their scorn.” –Barack Obama

He says William Ayers and Bernadine Dorhn, despite a clear history of anarchist philosophy and terrorist acts, were just ‘people in the neighborhood’. Yeah, and the Bolsheviks were just a local civic organization. Or is that ‘community organizers’?
“Kill all the rich people. Break up their cars and apartments. Bring
the revolution home. Kill your parents, that’s where it’s really at.”
–Bill Ayers, Weather Underground, 1970
What a guy.
Obama’s campaign staff tried in vain to connect Sarah Palin with an Anti-American separatist organization, an accusation which has already been soundly debunked.
He sat in a church for over 20 years listening to the sermons of a rabid moonbat who “god-damned” America and railed against “whitey” and Jews.
Some of the world’s worst dictators and Islamic goons are head over heels for Obamessiah, not surprising given his emapthy for their ‘plight’:
From an interview in the 19 September 2001 edition of the Hyde Park Herald:
"We must also engage, however, in the more difficult task of understanding the sources of such madness. The essence of this tragedy, it seems to me, derives from a fundamental absence of empathy on the part of the attackers: an inability to imagine, or connect with, the humanity and suffering of others. Such a failure of empathy, such numbness to the pain of a child or the desperation of a parent, is not innate; nor, history tells us, is it unique to a particular culture, religion, or ethnicity. It may find expression in a particular brand of violence, and may be channeled by particular demagogues or fanatics. Most often, though, it grows out of a climate of poverty and ignorance, helplessness and despair."

Yeah, that’s it. Must’ve been the ‘hopelessness and despair’ of the 9/11 Islamofascist excrement, instead of adherence to the precepts in the Koran or the abject hatred of Western civilization.
The MSM, especially the New York Times, is so ass-deep in the tank for Obama, that it serves as one of his campaign headquarters.
Oh by the way Frank, since you mentioned ‘Weimar’, a now ‘disappeared’ website called “Sing for Change” gathered a bunch of 5 through 12 year olds to sing the praises of the Obamessiah.
Very. Creepy. Once the video gained notoriety for it’s Hitler Youth-type quality, it too, disappeared.
Read about it here: http://freedomeden.blogspot.com/2008/10/sing-for-change-obama.html
Wanna know what what ‘pumps up my rage’, Frank?
I’m angry with a visceral leftwing media conglomerate and Democratic candidates who have more allegiance with America’s enemies than their own country.
I’m angry that there are Americans (and world-wide disciples) who blindly follow malcontents like Obama without caring about the ominous consequences.
That Obama shouldn’t be a presidential candidate let alone a United States Senator, makes me angry.
I’m angry that there’s a neo-socialist political machine in this country who helps elect venal politicians, in line with their reprehensible values.
I’m angry that anyone, including Mahmoud Amahdinejad, would believe that Obama’s election as president of the most powerful nation in the world, would be good thing.
I’m angry that the Left’s dog-eared race card is being flung as if Obama’s nihilist background has no bearing on his policies.
Last, but certainly not least, I’m angry that Democrats and their obsequious followers would gladly compromise America’s security and strength for a ‘new world order’ dictated by leftist Eurotrash and hostile Islamic nation-states, in the name of ‘improving our image’.
Hint, Frank: It ain’t his skin color, it’s his Socialist agenda I hate.
Take your socialism and ‘racist’ accusations and shove them up your ass. I’m sure there’s plenty of room.
"They read about how ACORN, an organization that Obama supports, is stealing the election in a handful of states."
Ah, so nice to know watch all the 'personal responsibility' Republicans setting up their lame excuses in advance of the landslide that'll leave them as in the political wilderness for nearly a decade. Acorn will not have a single thing to do with how this election goes. A voter registering as Mickey Mouse is not the same as someone showing up and trying to vote as Mickey Mouse. The first is not going to be Acorn's fault in every instance, because it's illegal NOT to turn in voter reg cards, no matter whether someone filled it out with the name Leonid Brezhnev. And whether someone actually shows up to vote with a false name, well, it just doesn't happen very much: http://tinyurl.com/24swms
You're gonna need better excuses. Try the big one--your party is out of ideas, radicalized, corrupt and laughably incompetent when it comes to the simple act of governing.
Riiiiiiight. We're the ones that are radicalized.
